Diploma in Music (Keyboard)
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to provide comprehensive training in keyboard techniques, music theory, and performance skills specific to Western music traditions. Participants will learn to read and interpret musical notation, develop finger dexterity and hand coordination, and explore a diverse repertoire of classical, contemporary, and popular music. Through practical exercises, individual coaching, and ensemble playing, participants will enhance their musical expression and technical proficiency on the keyboard. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform confidently and musically on the keyboard.

Learning Outcomes
- Develop proficiency in reading and interpreting musical notation for the keyboard.
- Master fundamental keyboard techniques, including finger dexterity, hand coordination, and proper posture.
- Perform a diverse repertoire of Western music, including classical, contemporary, and popular pieces.
- Understand and apply music theory concepts such as scales, chords, and harmony.
- Improve sight-reading skills to play new pieces accurately and confidently.
- Enhance musical expression through dynamics, phrasing, and articulation.
- Collaborate in ensemble settings, developing skills in accompaniment and ensemble playing. The students will get performance opportunities at Krup Music & FIlm Festival as part of their course project.

About course designers
- Dr. Krupesh Thacker: He is a renowned singer-songwriter, music producer, music therapist, director, and filmmaker. He is actively involved in the Gujarati and Hindi music and film industries. As a music producer, he has more than 100 songs to his credit. These songs have been released worldwide by Krup Music Label. Many of his songs have been trending on various platforms such as JioSaavn, Hungama, Gaana, Spotify, YouTube etc. As a lyricist, composer, and singer, he has worked on over 25 music videos. As a producer, he worked on an award-winning feature film and also directed many web series. He has worked on eighteen films, including popular Gujarati and Hindi movies. As a changemaker, he oversees more than 50 social and cultural initiatives, including global campaigns to inspire society. He started his medical journey with MBBS and MHA (Masters in Health Administration) and served as a research scientist in USA. He learned music recording and music production from GTCC College in USA. So far, he conducted 150+ music therapy sessions and designed numerous music therapy courses.
- Dr. Pooja Thacker: She is an author, changemaker, music therapist, Ayurved doctor and entrepreneur. As a changemaker, she is leading more than 50 initiatives to uplift the social, cultural and moral values of individuals and society as well as Women and Child Welfare projects. As a Gunje Gita trainer, she educates Gita Adhyay and nurtures moral education in individuals and society. She also leads the Give Vacha Academy educational initiative. As a BAMS doctor, she has 15+ years of experience in Ayurved, research and counselling.
